Ingredients

– 2, 6-oz salmon fillets, skin on
– 1 tbs gochujang paste
– 2 tbs honey
– 2 tbs rice vinegar
– A few shakes of fish sauce
– 1/4 cup soy sauce
– 2 cloves minced garlic
– 1 tbs freshly grated ginger
– 2 tbs olive oil
– Salt & pepper to taste

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
Allow salmon to come to room temperature and pat dry with a paper towel. Score the skin, making three 1-inch slits on the back and season with salt.
Step 2
Whisk gochujang paste, honey, vinegar, fish sauce, soy sauce, garlic and ginger together in a bowl. Set aside.
Step 3
Heat a cast iron skillet over medium heat. Add 2 tbs of olive oil then salmon fillets skin side down. After 3 minutes, shut off the heat.
Step 4
After 6 minutes, flip salmon over and pour glaze into the pan. Using a silicone brush, baste the skin side of your fish gently and lightly. The remaining glaze will reduce slightly and you can serve it alongside your fish. Too much glaze may make your skin less crispy, so be a little cautious.
